First of all, I would like to thank all of you for
your supportive comments on my first steps in the blogosphere. I’m truly
honoured to have been made to feel so welcome!
That said, it’s now back to the business at hand.
Saturdays are for charity shopping! We usually visit 2
or 3 shops on a Saturday and take a picnic. In bad weather conditions, this
will be a “car picnic”, but last Saturday we had such gorgeous early spring weather,
that we took our trusted picnic basket to the park!
This is what I wore: a long-sleeved A-line crimplene
dress with notched collar and buttons down the front. It’s got two generous pockets at waist-height
and is from Finnish label “Karelia”. I’ve actually got quite a few “Karelia”
dresses in my wardrobe.
As it was still rather chilly, I wore a cardigan, as
well as a gorgeous fake-fur collared jacket with a Paris label.
Both the dress and the jacket, as well as the flowery
scarf I’m wearing are from Think Twice, a shop which deserves a post of its
own.
The cardigan (I admit to having a whole collection of them) is
retail, as are the tights, which are from a market stall.
The necklace and brooch (please note the cute little
deer) are from Blender Vintage Shop.
Finally, the shoes and beret were both charity
shopped. I bought the beret that very day as I left behind my beloved Kangol
beret on the bus last week and was looking for a replacement.
As for the charity shopping itself, there was a
special event in Belgium’s charity shops on Saturday, drawing huge crowds of
vintage lovers. We had quite a haul, which I’ll tell you all about in my next
post!
In the meantime, I wanted to show you these little
treasures I found while out shopping with my best friend Inez on Friday.
See you soon!
I think I need a trip to Belgium! You find some fabulous stuff on your travels. Your Karelia dress is lovely, the Finish-made clothes I come across are always well cut and good quality. xxx
ReplyDeleteAnd there's me thinking I should come to the UK (which I do once a year). If you're ever in Antwerp, I'd be glad to give you a tour. I agree with you on the quality of Finnish made clothes, and have quite a few of them. xxx
DeleteWhat a terrific marriage of blue and brown. I've always adored that pairing. It sings of nature and is very serene, too. You look fantastic, sweet lady!
ReplyDelete♥ Jessica
Thank you so much Jessica, you're very sweet and you always look fabulous in your pictures. xxx
DeleteI love the teal tights paired with the dress in the full-length shot, they really bring out the colour in the print.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mim, teal is one of my favourite colours. xxx
DeleteSuch a beautiful coat, and it looks so great with the dress. A deer brooch officially makes you a vintage blogger.

ReplyDeleteThanks Goody, I really love that coat. And I feel honoured to be officially considered a vintage blogger! I wonder what that vintage blogging deer thing is coming from though. But wait until you see my favourite deer item ...
ReplyDeleteLove the deer brooch, that's cute. We have car picnics too, carnics we call them! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie. I love "carnics", and with your permission might start using the word too ;-)
DeleteMy fourth backward blog read, it's quite fun unfolding a story the wrong way round haha.
ReplyDeleteAgain I'm seeing more similarities, this time in the fact that I have a cardi stash and some Karelia frocks.
I'm not stalking you...promise.
Nice to know I'm not the only one with a cardi stash. I've got quite a few Karelia frocks, in fact I only just bought another one yesterday. xxx
